Indian festivals are treat for the eyes!

The joy of celebrating favorite festival is just unexplainable❤️ Yes, this is my favorite festival and today it reminded me of my childhood. I’m not really a morning person, waking up at 5:30 was never easy but today it was a delight.

Waking up early in the morning, preparing special food, decorating the room, listening to those devotional songs, it just gave me heavenly vibes. I still remember how my parents used to decorate the house for this festival over night back in India. It was fun.

It’s really a special day today, it’s a day of the festival called Varamahalakshmi Vrata.

It is a festival to propitiate the goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu. Varalakshmi is one who grants boons (Varam). It is believed that worshiping Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshiping Ashtalaksmi – the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength😇  I must say this is the favorite festival for women in South India. I’m not really sure how it is celebrated in other parts of India, but in Karnata this festival is really astounding.  Women go crazy for this festival and decorating goddess Lakshmi with money and all the jewels is the highlight of this festival. But I live in Germany and I don’t have everything that is needed for decoration, I still managed to do this simple decoration for the Lakshmi idol that I already had.  Yes, we Indians love celebrating festivals, well, who doesn’t 😛

Happy Varamahalakshmi festival everyone. Let goddess Lakshmi bless everyone with happiness and peace ❤

Until next time…… ❤

Glad to know that living outside India you’re still able to manage & decorate so well. And rangoli 😍

      Hey Shekhar,
Thank you so much 🙂 I know this festival is not so common in North India but in South India it’s one of the main festivals we celebrate 🙂
